Davide Dormino (Udine, 19 Giugno 1973).

La sua ricerca si esprime principalmente attraverso la scultura e il disegno. Cerca nuove forme attraverso una ricerca continua sulle possibilità liriche e plastiche di materiali come il marmo, il bronzo e il ferro.

Nei suoi lavori di arte pubblica troviamo una ricerca di monumentalità e di presa di possesso dello spazio; in ogni suo lavoro, inoltre, compare una ricerca di senso attraverso il riferimento a tematiche imprescindibili per l’Uomo.

Dialoga con la dimensione, operando su ogni tipo di scala e di dimensione per rendere l’opera in grado di rappresentare l'idea. Per Dormino ogni manifestazione artistica diviene terreno fertile attraverso cui relazionarsi con l’ambiente esterno in modo esclusivo ed incisivo. Opere piccole e grandi, materiali trasformati e adattati alla volontà di interpretare lo spirito d'artista senza tempo. 

 

Ha realizzato opere d'Arte Pubblica in Italia e all'estero, nel 2011 “Breath” il Monumento ad Haiti realizzato ad un anno dalla catastrofe del terremoto, per incarico delle Nazione Unite.

"Anything to say?" una scultura itinerante dedicata al coraggio e alla libertà d'informazione che ha iniziato il suo percorso da Berlino (Alexanderplatz) il 1' Maggio del 2015 successivamente l'Opera si e' spostata a Dresda (Theatrerplatz, Ostrale), Ginevra (Place des Nations), Parigi (Place Georges Pompidou), Strasburgo (Place Klèber), Tours (Gare de Tours), Perugia ( Piazza IV Novembre), Belgrado (Dev9t Festival), Ptuj-Slovenia (Art Stay Festival), Roma (p.le Aldo Moro). Per quest'opera ha ricevuto dall''organizzazione francese AntiCor il Prix éthique 2016.

 

Ha partecipato alla Biennale della Pietra in Portogallo (2003, 2005)

alla 5a edizione de La Escultura en Norte in Spagna (2009)

alla XIV Biennale d'Arte Sacra (2010)

Un'Ita-Italian Artists in New York (2011)

ad Ostrale 012 a Dresda in Germania (2012)

Ha esposto al C.I.A.C di Genazzano, Roma (2008), all'accademia dello Scompiglio, Lucca (2010), alla Venaria di Torino (2013), al Castello di Rivara (2013) al MAXXI (2016).

Ha tenuto mostre personali a Roma, Torino, Milano.

Lavora a Roma ed insegna Scultura e Disegno alla R.U.F.A. Rome University of Fine Arts.

 

 

  • La Scultura è la mia pratica. Ho sempre lavorato sull’idea di creare strutture, di sostegno, ideali, fisiche o immaginarie per l’intimo bisogno di dare una rappresentazione materica alla resistenza, al carico, cercando, in ogni mio lavoro di conferire leggerezza alla lotta contro ogni forma di peso.

“Sculpture is my practice. I have always worked on the idea of creating support structures, ideal, physical or imaginary for the intimate need to give a material representation to the resistance, to the load, trying in all my work to give lightness to the fight against all forms of weight.”
His work is expressed in scuplture and design.
He seeks new forms by favouring old-fashioned systems for working on materials such as marble, bronze and iron.
The entirety of his artistic research is entrusted to the grandeur
of a creative process rooted in fundamental human issues.
He dialogue with size, working in every physical scale, in order to represent an idea and insert it in the most suitable vessel.
Every artistic expression becomes
a fertile terrain with which to estabish exclusive and incisive relations with an external environment. Flux, vectors, bridges, and works both great
and small: materials transformed without artifice but shaped by a will to become the timeless interpretor of the Spirit of Art.
He has created works of Public Art in Italy and abroad, in 2011 “Breath” the Monument to Haiti created one year after the earthquake disaster, commissioned by the United Nations.
“Something to say?” An itinerant sculpture dedicated to the courage and freedom of information that began its journey from Berlin (Alexanderplatz) on 1 May 2015 and later the work moved to Dresden (Theatrerplatz, Ostrale) Geneva (Place des Nations),
Paris (Place Georges Pompidou), Strasbourg (Place Klèber), Tours (Gare de Tours), Perugia (Piazza IV Novembre), Belgrade (Dev9t Festival), Ptuj-Slovenia (Art Stay Festival), Rome (p.le Aldo Moro) .
For this work he received the 2016 Prix éthique from the French organization AntiCor.
