Thorsten Kirchhoff (born in 1960 in Copenhagen) is a multimedia artist. He manipulates the images, the movie frames like still-paintings, moving-installations, sculptures. With his practice he proposes a double vision of the reality, from one side grotesque and from the other one dreamy and ironic. Furthermore, since 1997 he has shot 12 short-videos with a direct reference to the filmic language. He lives and works in Rome since 1984.

Thorsten Kirchhoff (geboren 1960 in Kopenhagen (DK), lebt , seit 1984 in Rom) ist ein multimedialer Künstler. Einzelbilder / Fotogramme aus Filmen reproduziert er formal in Gemälden, Installationen, Skulpturen, in welchen er eine Vision der doppelten Wirklichkeit, grotesk und verträumt mit der Lieblichkeit des Bildes und der Leichtigkeit der Ironie, festhält. Zudem hat er seit 1997 zwölf Kurzfilme / Videos gedreht, in welchen sein beherrschen der Filmsprache zum Ausdruck kommt.
