Vanessa Paschakarnis, scultrice tedescocanadese, espone le sue opere in Europa, Stati Uniti e Canada. Ha una laurea specialistica dell’Accademia Belle Arti di Berlino (D) ed una dell’Università di NSCAD a Halifax, Nova Scozia (CA). Paschakarnis ha insegnato scultura in Canada e negli Stati Uniti. È stata nominata per ben due volte per il premio d’Arte Sobey, il prestigioso premio per giovani artisti canadesi e nell’estate 2009 riceve il premio come miglior giovane artista alla Blickachsen 7, la biennale di scultura internazionale a Bad Homburg (D). Nel 2011 ha partecipato al project management per grandi commissioni private e pubbliche. Le opere di Vanessa Paschakarnis sono presenti in collezioni private e pubbliche, fra cui la Galleria Nazionale del Canada, la Galleria d’Arte di Nova Scozia, la collezione d’arte del Dipartimento degli affari esteri del governo canadese e alla collezione Thiel in Svizzera. Le sue opere provocano forme di dialogo nel contesto con oggetti articolati, modificando ed espandendo la coscienza del corpo al mondo esterno.

Vanessa Paschakarnis, a German Canadian artist exhibits her work in Europe, the USA and Canada. She holds a Masters degree from KHB, Berlin, Germany and a second MFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, NS Canada. Paschakarnis has taught sculpture at in Canada and the USA. She was twice semi-finalist for the prestigious Canadian Sobeys Art Award. She received the “Best Young Artist Award” in 2009 at Blickachsen 7, a sculpture Biennale in Bad Homburg, Germany. In 2011 she received the Progress Woman of excellence Award from the Canadian Progress Club. Since 2011 Vanessa has been actively involved in project management for larger private and public art projects. Vanessa’s work is represented in public and private collections including the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, ON; the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in Halifax, NS; the Canadian Art Collection of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Thiel collection in Switzerland. Her artworks provoke reaction through material and scale, involving the viewer in a conversation with articulated objects as “the other”, altering and expanding body consciousness to include the outside world in the present moment.

Die Deutsch-Kanadierin Vanessa Paschakarnis, stellt ihre Werke in Europa, den USA und Kanada aus. Sie hat sowohl mit einem Master in Bildhauerei an der Kunst Hochschule Berlin (D), abgeschlossen, so wie ein Master of Fine Arts der Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in Halifax, NS, (CA) erworben. Vanessa unterrichtete Bildhauerei an Universitäten in Kanada und den USA. Sie war zweimal im Halbfinale des renommierten Sobey Art Awards und bekam 2009 den Förderpreis der Skulpturenbiennale in Bad Homburg. In 2011 erhielt sie den “Woman of Excellence” Preis des Kanadischen “Progress Clubs”. Vanessa ist seit 2011 im Projektmanagement für große private und öffentliche Skulpturenprojekte involviert. Ihre Arbeiten sind u.a. in der Kanadischen Nationalgalerie, der Kunstgalerie in Nova Scotia, der Sammlung des Kanadischen Auswärtigen Amtes und der Thiel Sammlung in der Schweiz vertreten. Ihre Kunstwerke provozieren eine Reaktion durch Material und Dimension, beziehen den Betrachter in ein Gespräch mit vorhandenen Objekten als “der Andere” ein, verändern und vergrößern das Körperbewusstsein um die Außenwelt in den Moment mit einzuschließen.
