Albert Braun nato in Germania nel 1958 a Vilseck, studia all’Università delle Arti di Berlino (HdK Berlino/Ovest). Lavora come artista e dal 1987 insegna alla Novia University of Applied Sciences and Arts a Vaasa (FI). Partecipa a numerosi progetti e mostre in Finlandia ed all’estero. Fa parte del collettivo artistico “finnfemel”. Vive e lavora a Nykarleby (FI). Le opere di Albert Braun, installazioni di vario genere, attirano lo spettatore palesemente, altre volte in maniera più discreta, ma sempre in modo diretto. Il lavoro di Albert Braun si può considerare una creazione di spazi, o la cornice per una serie di «happenings» e di eventi legati al quotidiano. Essi puntano all’interazione tra pubblico ed opera, restando così impressi nella mente dei visitatori. Il ricordo resta vivo, perché le opere d’arte non imitano il reale, bensì fanno spazio alla fantasia ed alla riflessione.

Albert Braun, born in 1958, Germany, studied at the University of the Arts Berlin (former HdK Berlin/West). He is a practising visual artist and senior lecturer at Novia University of Applied Sciences and Arts since 1987. He has participated in numerous art exhibitions and projects in Finland and internationally. He is a member of the artist group finnfemfel. He lives and works in Nykarleby, Finland. Albert Braun’s multidisciplinary artworks sometime openly attract the viewer, sometime they do it more discreetly,but always in a straight way. Yet,straight does not mean that there is a given interpretation. One can observe the work of Albert Braun as the creation of spaces or as a framework for actions and events that seem to reflect everyday matters, but which aren´t everday at all. They aim to an interaction between the audience and the work, hence they remain unforgettable to the visitors. The memory remains alive, because the works of art do not convey any connection with accustomed life, but rather create space for imagination and reflection

Albert Braun geboren 1958, in Vilseck (D), lebt und arbeitet in Nykarleby (FI). Er studierte an der Universität der Künste Berlin (ehemalige HdK Berlin / West). Er ist ein freischaffender Künstler und seit 1987 ist er Dozent an der Novia Fachhochschule für angewandte Wissenschaft und Kunst in Vaasa. Er nimmt an vielen Ausstellungen und Projekten in Finnland und im Ausland teil und ist Mitglied der Künstlergruppe “finnfemel”. Herausfordernde Räume: Albert Brauns Kunstwerke, häufig Installationen verschiedenster Art, ziehen die Betrachter an, manchmal ganz offensichtlich und manchmal eher diskret, aber immer klar und deutlich. Doch Klarheit bedeutet nicht, dass es eine vorgegebene Interpretation gibt. Man kann die Arbeit von Albert Braun als Kreation von Räumen sehen oder als Rahmen für Aktionen und Events, die Alltägliches widerspiegeln scheinen und doch nicht alltäglich sind. Sie zielen auf eine Interaktion zwischen Publikum und Werk hin und bleiben so für die Besucher unvergesslich. Die Erinnerung bleibt lebendig, weil die Kunstwerke keine Anlehnung an das gewohnte Leben vermitteln, sondern Platz für Fantasie und Reflektion schaffen.
